Substance Abuse Clinical Director - Remote, US

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000K 

Job Overview: Our client is seeking a Substance Abuse Clinical Director responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of a substance abuse treatment program.  As Clinical Director, your oversight will provide leadership, supervision, and support to the clinical staff, ensure the delivery of high-quality care to clients, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related.
  1. Licensure/Certification: State licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent is required. Additional certifications or credentials related to substance abuse treatment for LCSW and experience in clinical supervision.
  1. Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience in the field of substance abuse treatment. History of progressively increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance abuse disorders, as well as knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to oversee and support clinical staff, manage program operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing treatment programs, conducting clinical assessments, and monitoring client progress throughout the treatment process.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to evaluate clients' substance abuse histories, mental health needs, and treatment goals.
  • Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches to address clients' complex needs.
  • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care principles, as well as experience working with diverse populations and cultural competency.

  • Excellent leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate clinical staff, foster a positive work culture, and promote professional growth and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate expectations clearly, and resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive care to clients.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing substance abuse treatment programs, including licensure, accreditation, and quality assurance standards
  • Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and records, and participating in program audits.
