Privacy Engineering Leader - California (remote potential)

Job Summary: As the Privacy Engineering Leader, you will lead our client's efforts to embed privacy into the design and development of products and services. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop and implement technical solutions to protect customer data and ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of privacy-enhancing technologies and features to protect customer data and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and security teams to integrate privacy considerations into the product development lifecycle.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and threat modeling exercises to identify and address potential privacy risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications related to privacy features and controls.
  • Stay informed about developments in privacy-enhancing technologies and industry best practices, providing guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related field, with a focus on privacy or security.
  • Strong knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, including encryption, anonymization, differential privacy, secure multi-party computation and homomorphic encryption.
  • Experience with privacy impact assessments, threat modeling, and other privacy engineering methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
