Job Summary: As a Privacy Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance on privacy and data protection matters to our client's organisation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will assess privacy risks, develop compliance strategies, and ensure our operations align with global privacy laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Assess privacy risks associated with new products, services, and business initiatives, providing recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Review and negotiate privacy-related contracts, including data processing agreements, privacy policies, and vendor contracts.
  • Assist in responding to privacy incidents and breaches, coordinating investigations and notifications as required by law.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training programs for employees to raise awareness and promote compliance with privacy policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Law degree and admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction.
  • 4+ years of experience in privacy or data protection law, preferably in a legal or compliance role.
  • Strong knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting privacy impact assessments and advising on privacy compliance strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
