Role Summary
My client is seeking a Technology Partner to join its Dallas or Houston office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience counseling technology sector clients on transactional, regulatory, and strategic matters. This is an excellent opportunity to guide and grow a thriving Technology practice at a firm that emphasizes teamwork, client service, and forward-thinking innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional Leadership: Lead negotiations and structure deals for software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, tech M&A, and other technology-focused transactions.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Advise clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging regulatory frameworks affecting tech products and services.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, foster client relationships, and drive revenue growth within the Technology practice, supported by the firm’s dedicated Marketing Department.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of tech clients, addressing legal issues throughout the product lifecycle and corporate growth stages.
- Team Mentorship & Development: Mentor associates and junior partners on technology-specific legal matters, deal structuring, and professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other practice groups—such as intellectual property, corporate, and litigation—to provide integrated legal strategies tailored to tech-based innovations.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Texas (or eligibility to become licensed in Texas).
- 7+ years of experience in technology law, with a focus on software licensing, data privacy, cybersecurity, or technology-related transactions.
- Proven Book of Business or demonstrated business development success with the capacity to expand the practice.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with an aptitude for managing complex client engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
