Position Title: Partner – Tier 1 Law Firm – Real Estate
Location: Dallas or Houston, Texas

My client, a Tier 1 law firm with a nationwide presence, provides innovative, industry-focused legal counsel. The firm’s Real Estate practice offers comprehensive services to developers, investors, financial institutions, and corporate clients. With a deep bench of attorneys and a multidisciplinary approach, the firm handles a full spectrum of real estate matters—from acquisitions, dispositions, and financings to commercial leasing, zoning, and land use.

Role Summary

My client is currently seeking a Real Estate Partner to join its Dallas or Houston office. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising clients on complex real estate transactions, including commercial development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and land use issues. This role is an excellent opportunity to lead and expand an already thriving Real Estate practice within a firm that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and unparalleled client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transactional Leadership: Negotiate and structure complex real estate deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, and leasing.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to a wide array of real estate clients, from developers and property managers to institutional investors.
  • Practice Growth & Strategy: Work closely with firm leadership to set strategic goals for the Real Estate practice in Texas, identifying market opportunities and nurturing client relationships.
  • Team Mentorship & Development: Mentor associates and junior partners, providing guidance on transaction structuring, client communication, and professional growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other practice groups—such as corporate, tax, and litigation—to deliver integrated legal solutions that address clients’ broader business needs.
  • Business Development: Drive revenue and practice expansion by networking, pitching, and cross-selling services, supported by the firm’s dedicated Marketing Department.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Texas (or eligibility to become licensed in Texas).
  • 7+ years of experience in Real Estate law, including substantial transactional experience (e.g., acquisitions, sales, commercial leasing, financing).
  • Proven Book of Business or demonstrated success in client development, with the ability to foster and sustain long-term client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a track record of effectively mentoring junior attorneys.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of handling sophisticated transactions and client advisement.
