Marketing & Business Development Specialist – Transportation & Space

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Overview:
A professional services firm is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Specialist to support its Transportation & Space practice group. This role involves marketing activities such as pitch preparation, event coordination, directory and award submissions, database management, and market research. The position is based in New York City and requires on-site work three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Business Development Manager to achieve practice group marketing goals.
  • Attend internal practice meetings to track key matters and support business development initiatives.
  • Draft, format, and finalize pitches, RFP responses, and presentations.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to inform marketing strategies and proposals.
  • Prepare, review, and submit directory and award applications, working closely with leadership to ensure timely submissions.
  • Maintain and update marketing materials, including brochures, representative matters, and deal databases.
  • Manage website and print content updates, including attorney biographies and practice descriptions.
  • Coordinate with PR/Communications teams on press releases, awards, and external visibility efforts.
  • Plan and execute client events and sponsorships, handling invitations, logistics, ROI measurement, and follow-ups.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, or at least three years of relevant experience (preferably in a law firm or professional services setting).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint. Experience with InterAction, CMS platforms, or marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility to adapt as needed.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range is $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and firm needs.
