Job Summary: As the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO), you will be responsible for leading our client's privacy program and ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will develop and implement privacy strategies, policies, and procedures to protect customer data and mitigate privacy risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive privacy program, including policies, procedures, and training programs, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy-related inquiries and concerns from internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee privacy risk assessments and audits to identify and address potential privacy risks and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor and evaluate privacy incidents and breaches, ensuring timely and appropriate response and notification as required by law.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, IT, and security, to integrate privacy considerations into business processes and initiatives.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Law degree and admission to the bar in relevant jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of experience in privacy or data protection law, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement privacy strategies and programs in a complex organization.
