Business Litigation Associate Attorney
About the Role:
A well-established firm is seeking a Midlevel Business Litigation Associate Attorney with three to five years of experience in complex commercial litigation. This role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated disputes for a diverse range of businesses and individuals in federal and state court proceedings, as well as alternative dispute resolution venues.
The firm fosters a collegial and collaborative work environment, offering associates direct engagement with experienced attorneys and exposure to national-level litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of complex business litigation, including strategy development, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on high-stakes litigation matters.
- Manage large and sophisticated litigation cases, ensuring a high standard of advocacy.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- 3-5 years of experience in business or commercial litigation at a law firm.
- Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
- At least two years of experience in a litigation position at a firm is required.
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience managing complex litigation matters and working closely with clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with contract disputes, fraud claims, business torts, and partnership disputes.
- Familiarity with arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
- Prior litigation experience in real estate, energy, or financial services is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ($275,000–$300,000), with an annual discretionary bonus.
