Job Summary: Our client is seeking a talented Automation/Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. As an Automation/Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and implementing automation systems and control solutions to improve efficiency and reliability within the manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy innovative automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programs for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Configure and integrate industrial control systems, including motion control, robotics, and vision systems, to optimize production processes.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation systems and control software, identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to design and integrate automation solutions into existing manufacturing systems.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance technicians and production staff on automation system operation and maintenance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and HMI development software (e.g., FactoryTalk, Ignition).
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
